Situation at the Ukrainian-Russian border

Combat actions were conducted at the Ukrainian-Russian border during the last 24 hours.

At 11.40 (on 4 August, 2014) unit of the State Border Guard Service “Amvrosiivka” was involved in a battle with militants who had arrived in two vans from the settlement Ilovaisk. Terrorists have failed to break through the checkpoint, and they have been forced to flee.

From 10.07 to 14.00 (on 4 August, 2014) from the Russian territory in the direction of the settlement Marfivka (Russia) - Vasylivka (Ukraine) carried out the shelling on the settlements of Vasylivka and Amvrosiivka with artillery and systems "Grad".

At 18.56 p.m. (on 4 August, 2014) howitzer firing on the settlement of Amvrosiivka and border positions was performed from the border side.

From 22.00 (on 4 August, 2014) to 01.20 (on 5 August, 2014) the mortar bombardment on border units near the settlement of Stanichno-Luhansk (Luhansk region) was performed from the territory of the RF. Further bombardment was moved inside the territory of Ukraine.

There are the facts of the infringements of aerial space of Ukraine with unmanned aerial vehicles in some areas of Donetsk and Kherson regions:

at 21.20 (on 4 August, 2014) a border patrol detected the flight of unmanned aircraft vehicle (UAV) over the SBGSU Department "Mariupol".

at 21.35 (on 4 August, 2014) a border patrol detected the flight of UAV along the administrative boundaries of the Kherson region and the AR of Crimea and near the control post "Chervoniy Chaban."

at 21.30 (on 4 August, 2014)a watch signalman of the maritime security ship "Donbass" detected the flight of one more UAV on the axis of the settlements of  Sedove (Ukraine) - Taganrogzka zatoka- Rostov-na-Donu (Russia). 

at 22.50 (on 4 August, 2014) on the direction of the water area of the port of Mariupol (Ukraine) - Taganrogzka zatoka- Rostov-na-Donu (Russia), was detected the flight of UAV over the territory of Ukraine towards Russia.
