Terrorists blocked work of international experts investigating the causes of Boeing 777 crash
The international group of experts today, as at 12.40 local time,
could not set to work at the Boeing-777 crash site as
a result of blocking movement by
a column of terrorists who control the
area. According to reports from the scene, now
continue negotiations between the OSCE Mission and terrorists on the
possibility of further movement.
The Ukrainian military emphasize that they conduct no combat action in
the 20-km zone around the crash site and on experts’ travel way.
124 experts have had to start work. They were moving to the crash site
in 18 cars. The group planned to examine two fields westwards of the crash
site.
We also report that today at 12.20 local time from
Kharkiv to the Netherlands departed the
cargo aircraft with the human remains and victims’ personal
belongings that have been found by experts
at the crash site of the aircraft on Friday and
Saturday, as well as the DNA material and personal
belongings, which for some time were
at the mortuary in Donetsk.
Yesterday, on August 3, 2014, head of the
recovery mission Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg
in his press statement reported that the
experts expect a few flights to
the Netherlands soon. "We understand that
relatives are waiting for a long time. The
realization that we are doing all we can here
in Ukraine will bring them some
consolation," said the head of the
expert group.
According to him, on August 3, the police
officers and experts managed to
inspect the area of about six square kilometres. They
found the victims’ personal belongings. Human remains were
not found.
He said that the personal belongings
of the dead passengers were
also obtained by the experts on August
3 in the village of Torez. "Things were kept in
the train car for a long time. Thanks to the negotiations conducted
by the OSCE, we
managed to reach an agreement today. The
seal on the train car has
been still intact. Suitcases, bags and cameras inside seem
to be intact. Personal belongings have
been taken to Soledar. From
there, they will be transported to Kharkiv", said Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg
