Situation at Ukrainian-Russian border

Border guard units are guarding and defending the state border under conditions of permanent attacks of terrorists and continue to hold the control over BCPs within Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The Armed Forces of Russian Federation keep attacking Ukrainian territory.

At 10.10 p.m. (22.07.14), the bombardment of the territory of Ukraine on the axis of Amvrosiivka settlement was performed from the territory of Russian Federation.

At 10.40 p.m. (22.07.14), the bombardment of Ukrainian territory by Multiple Launch Rocket Systems “Grad” from the territory of Russian Federation was detected on the axis of Herasymivka settlement.

At 02.15 a.m. (23.07.14), there was an artillery attack of BCP “Uspenka”. The bombardment was performed from Russian territory.

Violations of aerial space of Ukraine by Russian Armed Forces aviation are still in progress.

At 11.30 a.m. (22.07.14), the helicopter Mi-8 of Russian Federation Armed Forces got into the territory of Ukraine (about 150 m) on the axis of settlements of Murom (Russian Federation) – Starytsia (Ukraine).

At 10.25 p.m., the border patrol detected the helicopter Ka-52 that has flown into the territory of Ukraine (about 500 m) and then flew out on the axis of settlements of  Voloshyno (Russian Fedeation) – Krasna Talivka (Ukraine). Later, the same helicopter got back and performed the recon flight above the BCP “Krasna Talivka”

At 02.50 a.m. (22.07.14), the unmanned aircraft of Russian Federation flying along the state border was detected.  

In front of the border sector of Sumy border guard detachment there is field camp of Russian Federation Armed Forces (units from Novosibirsk, Tatarstan) deployed 15 km far from the border.

The demonstrative and provocative actions by Russian Armed Forces took place in front of the border sectors of border guard divisions “Hremiach” and “Hirsk” (Chernihiv region). Several armored vehicles approached to the state border of Ukraine, deployed into the combat order, imitated the attack, and then came back and moved along the state border line.
