Olexandr Sych met in Geneva with UN representative Rudolf Muller

On June 30, 2014, in the framework of the visit of Ukrainian delegation to Switzerland Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Sych met with Mr. Rudolf Müller, Deputy Director of the Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (ОСНА) in Geneva.

The sides discussed cooperation between Ukraine and the Department in solving complex humanitarian issues and providing appropriate assistance. The UN representative highly assessed the cooperation with Ukraine as a "reliable humanitarian partner" and stressed that a rescue unit of the State Emergency Services of Ukraine is passing an international certification that will allow it to participate in rescue operations of the United Nations around the world, and expressed confidence in the success of such certification.

In his turn, Olexandr Sych thanked Rudolph Müller on behalf of the Government of Ukraine for the considerable support in the protection of humanitarian values and territorial integrity of Ukraine, providing by structural units of the United Nations. "In the conditions of war being waged against Ukraine, we highly appreciate the objectivity and impartiality shown by representatives of the United Nations", assured the official.

The Vice Prime Minister informed Rudolph Müller about the efforts of the Government in overcoming the negative effects of terrorist acts in Ukraine and expressed confidence in fruitful cooperation between the newly established interagency coordination staff and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine, UN office should be expanded up to 7 people. "We are confident that we can count on your moral and material support in the future,” summed up Olexandr Sych.
