Bilateral EU-Ukraine consultations on the legal consequences of the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia
On June 10, in
Brussels the Ukrainian delegation headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister of
Ukraine Natalia Halibarenko held bilateral
consultations with representatives of the European External Action Service and
the European Commission aimed at developing common approaches to issues arising
in connection with the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia. The
Ukrainian delegation also included representatives from relevant ministries,
including the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Economic Development and
Trade of Ukraine.
The sides have agreed
on joint steps aimed at resolving the problems of Crimea in accordance with
international law on the principles of territorial integrity and inviolability
of borders.
Consultations
have been held as a part of the agreements reached at the joint sitting of the
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the European Commission on 13 May, 2014.
