Government endorses decision to terminate traffic via certain border checkpoints with Russia

On June 5, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a decision to close certain crossing points on border with the Russian Federation.

On grounds of public order to prevent the threat to lives and health of the citizens, resulting from dangerous events on certain territories, the Cabinet of Ministers has supported the proposal by the State Border Service to terminate, pursuant to section one, article 10 of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on checkpoints over the state border between Ukraine and the RF and article 7 of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure of crossing Ukrainian-Russian state border by the residents of border areas of Ukraine and the RF, traffic via the following border checkpoints:

Luhansk region – Dolzhansky, Chervonopartyzansk, Chervona Mohyla, Novoborovtsy, Krasnodarsky (border checkpoint on the adjacent territory – Donetsk), Krasnodarsky (border checkpoint on the adjacent territory – Nyzhny Shvyryov), Severny;

Donetsk region – Marynivka.

The Government commissioned the Ministry of FForeign Affairs to inform the Russian side on the approved decision.
