Border guards repulsed another attack of terrorists and detained cars with weapons and ammunition

On May 29 about 300 armed men drove again to the area of “Stanychno-Luhanske” border guard division, accumulated and arranged roadblocks and firing points a few hundred meters from the unit.

At today’s night from 00.30 to 02.30 a.m., the border unit was attacked by terrorists. They were shooting with grenades and small arms. The border guards opened fire on the attackers. There were six waves of fire. One of the soldiers was lightly injured. Instead 4 ambulances were noted to come to militants’ locations. All interacting bodies reported on attack.

Also tonight on the Russian border guards detained three cars. The first car stopped was "Mercedes Vito", which had to meet and accompany cars from Russia. And for a while two more cars ("Gazelles") were detained which moved from the side of an adjacent state. Overall, the cars got 27 auto-machine guns, 2 guns, 4 machine guns, 5 grenade launchers Mukha ("Fly"), 5 sniper rifles and 84 boxes of ammunition and grenades. Among the passengers of a "Gazelle" was a woman who had 10 thousand dollars. In general, border guards detained 13 persons.
