Arseniy Yatsenyuk pays visit to the place of tragedy in residential building in Mykolayiv
On
Wednesday, May 21, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has arrived
to Mykolayiv.
Accompanied
by the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Building and
Housing and Communal Services Volodymyr Hroysman, head of Mykolayiv regional
state administration Mykola Romanchuk and head of
Mykolayiv regional council Taras Kremen
he attended the headquarters of liquidation of the consequences of the tragedy,
which occurred in 40, Lazurna street, and laid
flowers to the memorable sign to the victims of the tragedy installed near the
building.
Staying
in the headquarters of liquidation of the emergency situation Arseniy Yatsenyuk
got familiar with the course of search and rescue activities. The head of the
State Emergency Service of Ukraine Serhii Bochkovsky reported to the Head of the Government about the
course of the rescue activities and liquidation of the accident consequences.
In particular, he told how they were saving a female resident of the building
who had been trapped under the ruins for around 18 hours. She was found owing
to a rescue dog.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk communicated to the residents of the residential estate.
Presently,
a session of Government is being held in Mykolayiv and is aimed at approving
decisions on reimbursement to the families of the deceased and providing with
accommodation those who suffered.
As was
reported, the explosion which occurred on May 12 at a building on 40 Lazurna street, in Zavodsky district of Mykolayiv claimed 7 lives, 5 people
got wounds. 188 evacuated residents have received temporary accommodation.
