Vitalii Yarema: The authorities concerned in impartial investigation of Maidan events

On May 20, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitalii Yarema held a meeting to solve social and other problems of families of those persons whose death was joined to participation in mass public protest rallies in the period of November 23, 2013 through February 21, 2014. The meeting gathered an initiative group of relatives of the victims and representatives of Prosecutor General Office of Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Social Policy, Ministry of Economic Development, Finance Ministry, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science and Justice Ministry.

During the event the family members of the deceased appealed with a number of problems and questions to the First Vice Prime Minister and representatives of profile ministries. Issues of social maintenance and investigation of criminal cases raised their largest concern.

Vitalii Yarema and representatives of the ministries answered all the questions. Speaking about the investigation process, Vitalii Yarema emphasized: “State leaders who came to power after the events on Maidan are concerned in impartial investigation”.  

Moreover, the top official informed that the social payments which the families of the deceased were due to receive in compliance with the Resolution of the Government would start being paid by the end of the current month.

In the end Vitalii Yarema emphasized the current meeting had given answers to many questions and expressed hopes those organizational problems which existed would be solved. In addition he aired an initiative to hold a meeting with participation of the families of the victims and a broad circle of Government’s representatives and discuss the achieved results in a month’s time.
