In case trade-economic missions resume their activity within the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Ukraine will be capable to more efficiently promote products of national producers at the European market.

Government Commissioner for European Integration Valerii Pyatnytsky said in the Ukrainian Accent program with the First National Channel of Ukraine.

He stressed that taking into account the fact that the European Union had introduced an autonomous trade preference regime towards Ukrainian goods and consequently simplified the access to the European market, there arose the need to actively promote the national goods at the European market, so the trade-economic missions (TEM) can be actively engaged in that.

Valerii Pyatnytsky reminded that several years before the TEM system had practically ceased functioning after it had been handed over to the Ministry of Economic Development to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which formed economic departments on the basis of it.

“We should resume the system of trade-economic missions within the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and increase their role,” the Government Commissioner noted.

At this, he considers it is unnecessary to resume work of all earlier functioning TEM, enumerating around 60 then, we should focus on top-priority markets for Ukraine.
