During the official
visit to Washington
the Ukrainian delegation held bilateral meetings with representatives of the
Presidential Administration and the U.S. Government, including Deputy Assistant
to the President for National Security Caroline Atkinson and Under Secretary
for Economic Growth Catherine A. Novelli.
At the meeting, U.S. officials categorically supported the
sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. On behalf of the United States, they expressed their full support
to the reforms of the Government of Ukraine that will be a part of the program
of cooperation between Ukraine
and the International Monetary Fund.
During a meeting with
the management of U.S. Department of the Treasury, headed by Treasury Secretary
Jacob Lew U.S.
side confirmed its readiness to actively promote the activities of the
Ukrainian Government on returning of illegally acquired assets, which were bred
abroad. Among other things it was discussed the effectiveness of sanctions
imposed against Russia and
the separatists in Crimea and more.
