EBRD is willing to increase funding for Ukrainian municipalities and energy projects

During the official visit to Washington Ukrainian delegation held a meeting with the leadership of the EBRD, headed by the EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti.

During the meeting, participants discussed the cooperation and agreed on a review of the EBRD portfolio in Ukraine concerning the expansion of investment projects.

The parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of projects with a high degree of readiness, including municipal projects and energy projects.

Thus, it was also discussed projects to build a subway in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv totaling to 600 million euros, upgrading heating infrastructure in Donetsk region totaling to 20 million euros and implementation Upgrade Program of NPPs safety in Ukraine totaling to 600 million euros.

It was agreed with the leadership of the EBRD on providing technical assistance to the financial and banking sector of Ukraine's economy and to government reforms on improving the business climate in the country.
