It's a realistic to send a draft of new Constitution to the Venice Commission before the presidential election. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yatsenyuk on Friday, April 11, in Donetsk during a meeting with the heads of Regional State Administration, heads of cities, heads of defense and law enforcement agencies and industry representatives of eastern regions.

"I think that it is realistic that, we can send a draft of new Constitution to the Venice Commission before the presidential election," the Prime Minister said.

He noted that a bad tradition has formed in Ukraine, when every president begins to rewrite the main low like he want: "Amending the Constitution, at least the first stage should be done before the presidential elections."

The political position of the Government is that the country should know before the presidential election exactly what powers will have: the head of state, local and national authorities, prosecutors and others.

"This is our political task and responsibility to the people of Ukraine. Together we are able to do it quickly," Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
