Government addressed to Parliament to vote for bills on public procurement, reducing tax rates and preparation for visa-free regime
The Cabinet of
Ministers appeals to the Verkhovna Rada without delay to vote for bill on
public procurement, on reducing tax rates for drugs and medical products and
bills needed to be prepared for the introduction of a visa-free regime with the
EU. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy
Yatsenyuk after a meeting with leaders of
parliamentary factions in Parliament Thursday, April 10.
"The Government
addresses to the Parliament so that the Law of Ukraine on Public Procurement,
which eliminates corruption in this area, will be voted immediately," A. Yatsenyuk said.
According to him,
through public procurement "UAH 300 billion" passes. The Cabinet of
Ministers submitted to the Parliament a draft law, "which meets European
standards and makes all public procurement transparent."
"We call on the
Parliament to immediately vote for the bill. Without the amendments, which make
it possible to circumvent public procurement," the Prime Minister said.
The Government also
addressed to the Parliament to adopt amendments to the Customs and Tax Codes to
"reduce the tax rate on medicines from 20% to 7% in order to quickly
enable clearance drugs and supply them."
In addition, according
to Arseniy Yatsenyuk we need
urgently adopt legislation that will give the opportunity to sign an agreement
with the international financial institutions on loans.
Another set of
questions relates to the transition to the second phase of the Action Plan on
visa liberalization with the EU. "We ask all factions, regardless of
political affiliation, to take a pack of these laws."
