Andriy Deshchytsia attended a meeting in the format "Ukraine + group of friends of Ukraine in the EU"

On March 17, in Brussels Acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Deshchytsia attended the meeting in the format "Ukraine + group of friends of Ukraine in the EU" at the level of EU foreign ministers.

Acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine informed the EU side of the situation in Crimea (Ukraine), stressing the inadmissibility of military aggression of Russia, based on all-out misinformation artificially pumped by Russian officials and media. The sides unconditionally condemned the so-called Crimean referendum of March 16, 2014, held in spite of Ukrainian legislation and international law.

Participants of the meeting discussed further decisive actions in order to prevent implementation of the results of the referendum as well as de-escalation of the situation in this Ukrainian region.

A.Deshchytsia confirmed the willingness of the new Ukrainian government to carry out systemic reforms, to sign as soon as possible the Association Agreement with the EU. He noted the importance of the decision to allocate our state ambitious package of financial assistance.
