The Prime
Minister expressed gratitude to the European partners for the economic
package suggested to Ukraine. We must stabilize the situation immediately, he
underlined. The
economic situation is a sensitive question, he noted: “However, the
Government is trying to preserve the stability, fulfill liabilities, cover
all budgetary expenditures and ensure the Ukrainians with all social
payments”. Moreover,
Arsenii Yatseniuk emphasized the Cabinet of Ministers had resumed the
negotiations with the IMF: “It is an essential condition for stabilizing the
economy of Ukraine. We are ready to engage the negotiations and adherence to
the agreement which is to be signed between Ukraine and the IMF”. Apart
from that, the Prime Minister stressed the military crisis in Ukraine is “the
crisis for the whole Europe”. He
informed that during the Summit of the EU Heads of State and Governmens there
had been held a clear and open discussion about how to find the way to solve
this conflict exceptinally with the help of the polictical and diplomatic
instruments: “We are striving to overcome in a peaceful way. We are devoted
to the values of our independence and integrtity and convinced we will find
the ways out that afford everyone to understand that Ukraine is an
independent country and none has a right to interfere in out internal policy
and everyone is interested in peace and stability in Ukraine and in the
region”. Arsenii
Yatseniuk emphasized that further escalation and aggravation of the situation
in Crimea would have extremely negative consequences for the Ukrainian
economy in whole. “It is extremely difficult to persuade the foreign
investors to put into the country with the Russian tanks moving and Russian
soldiers waking along the territory. I don’t exclude it to be a part of the plan,”
the Head of the Government noted. “We
appeal the Russian authorities with a demand to withdraw their troops to
barracks, not to support illegal so-called government of Crimea and start
real negotiations to solve the crisis peacefully… To fulfill the
international agreements, not to undermine the independence and territorial
integrity of Ukraine and not to support those who desire to split Ukraine,”
the Premier stressed. “The time
has come to stop. Building of new Berlin walls is not the architecture of
global safety acknowledged in the world nowadays,” he emphasized. Arsenii
Yatseniuk addressed the President of Russia: “Mr. Putin, tear down this wall”. |
