The acting Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov has congratulated a Ukrainian biathlete on the bronze medal in the Winter Olympiad in Sochi and called the victory of Vita Semerenko one more line in the modern history of the country.

In his welcoming speech Serhiy Arbuzov noted that our athlete had managed not just to win the deserved award.

“In such hard period for the country Vita Semerenko could have instilled optimism with her strength of spirit and her will to win to all Ukraine’s citizens who believe and feel pride for the country, who have used to augment the glory of our nation with their hard labour, to demonstrate the whole world unexhausted potential of the internal energy, a desire to win in the fair fight. We are proud of Vita and all our Olympic sportsmen. With joining efforts our biathletes could have managed after 8 years to make the world consider the power of Ukrainian sports in whole and biathlon in particular,” the acting Prime Minister said.

Serhiy Arbuzov wished the bronze winner Vita Semerenko, her sister Valentyna who had also participated in the sprint race and all Ukrainian sportsmen strong health, family welfare and new victories for the sake of Ukrainian nation.

“Sport, just as life, doesn’t forgive any mistakes. But not failures that everyone can have, appear a decisive factor in the question – whether you win or lose. A motivated person just learns from failures not to blunder!” the acting Prime Minister said and expressed hopes that the bronze in biathlon was not the last medal of Ukrainians during the Winter Olympic Games of 2014.

As is known Vita Semerenko came third in 7.5 km sprint race. Vita Semerenko has brought the first award to Ukraine during the Olympic Games in Sochi.
