I. Prasolov: Understandings between Ukraine and PRC to facilitate maintaining balance in trade between the states

The understandings in the economic area reached in the course of a visit of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to the People’s Republic of China will facilitate maintaining the balance in trade between the countries, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov noted in an interview with the BTB channel.

“We realize perfectly that the Chinese market is rather huge and significant for Ukraine. And if we look at the sectors where the understandings were reached – these are highly technological areas: aircraft industry, chemical industry, power engineering, we will understand how important these understandings for our economy are,” the Minister emphasized.

He is convinced that realization of the understandings in the mentioned sectors will balance the trade between the states and reduce the negative trade balance for Ukraine.

Ihor Prasolov informed that there had been agreed the composition of an expert group that was to fly to China to ensure realization of the reached understandings between the countries, and first of all of those that would make possible balancing the trade with the PRC.

“We will move forward in the direction of further enlargement of the economic cooperation with the PRC,” the Minister stated.
