Press office of the CMU: Media spread misinformation on reduction of expenditures to treat children with cancer

The information that the draft state budget 2014 provides catastrophic spending cuts for the treatment of children with cancer, which was shown on January 15 this year in the evening program "Facty" on the ICTV, is false and provocation .

The so-called acting chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" Hanna Hopko said that "we can not remain silent when children are dying in the background of police improvement."

You know, as chief doctor of "Okhmatdyt" Yuriy Gladush said, the Board of Trustees is a public organization with a lot of members who talk to themselves and do not express the official point of view of the hospital. However, as you know, Hanna Hopko is an activist of the "Public sector of "EuroMaidan" – the organization that has been repeatedly accused of disseminating misinformation.

Secondly, why Hanna Hopko kept silent in 2009, when the Government has allocated UAH 39.7 million to children with cancer in 10 times less than in 2013? For comparison, in 2010 for this purpose directed immediately was allocated twice as much – UAH 77.5 mln., UAH 89.6 million in 2012 and UAH 365.8 million in 2013.

Any reduction in funding for health care for children with cancer will not be in 2014. Moreover, by the end of this year will be put into operation modern medical-diagnostic complex of "Okhmatdyt", where the center of a bone marrow transplant and oncology department will operate.

In general, UAH 61.3 billion are provided in the draft Law of Ukraine "On State Budget for 2014" on the financing of the health care, that is 1.7 times more than in 2009.

The increase of the general funding of the Ministry of Interior, on which Hanna Hopko referred, is not due to the new needs of police, but due to the inclusion into the MIA of the State Border Service, which spending in 2013 amounted to 2.5 billion.

Distortion of the facts is nothing but a deliberate attempt to spread lies and an attempt to misinform society, so we require TV-channel ICTV to apologize for spreading misinformation and refute the misinformation with actual data of the state budget in 2014.
