The RDNA5 report provides international recognition of the scale of the destruction and a clear plan for Ukraine's recovery, says Oleksii Kuleba

Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine — Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba, and World Bank Managing Director for Operations, Anna Bjerde, held a working meeting on the eve of the RDNA5 presentation.

First Deputy Minister Aliona Shkrum and Deputy Ministers Maryna Denysiuk and Yevhen Dubogryz also joined the meeting.

The key topic of the meeting was the presentation and discussion of the results of the fifth Ukraine Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA5), prepared jointly by the Government of Ukraine, the World Bank, the European Commission and the United Nations.

"Thanks to the RDNA5 report, we have a comprehensive, transparent and internationally recognised picture of the scale of the destruction. These are not just numbers, but a document that allows us to structure our priorities and allocate resources effectively. I am grateful to the World Bank for its support and joint work on the report," Oleksii Kuleba emphasised.

Together with the World Bank, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development will conduct a study on the comprehensive recovery of settlements as a logical continuation of RDNA5. This will allow the pilot project to be scaled up from 5 to 20 communities, taking into account the economic potential of the territories and migration processes.

The meeting's participants also discussed the issue of financing compensation for damaged and destroyed housing within the framework of the eVidnovlennia programme.

Significant attention was paid to strengthening institutional capacity through the creation of a Project Management Unit (PMU/PIU), which will improve the effectiveness of joint initiatives.

In addition, the parties discussed expanding sectoral cooperation, particularly in the areas of energy recovery within the REPOWER project and port logistics within the RELINC project, as well as further steps to ensure the financial sustainability of the railway sector.

The sides agreed to continue close coordination of efforts in the recovery process and to work together to ensure the financial sustainability of strategic sectors of the Ukrainian economy.
