Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko took part in the VI Congress of the Trade Union of Coal Mining Workers of Ukraine. In his welcoming speech, the Minister of Energy paid tribute to the miners who fell in the fight for Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity. German Galushchenko also thanked them for their significant contribution to the sustainable operation of Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector under martial law.
“We are preparing for a hard winter. The enemy plans to continue shelling our energy facilities. Unfortunately, we experienced this last winter and we know how difficult it is. That is why the work of each of you – those responsible for coal production and supply – is very important. We have to increase production to meet the needs of thermal generation and to balance the system. We did it last winter and I am confident that we will do it this time too,” the Minister added.
German Galushchenko introduced the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kheilo, who, according to the division of responsibilities, will coordinate the work of the coal industry and deal with relevant issues of miners.
The Congress also discussed problematic issues of coal companies and further ways of solving them.
