In Ukraine with deep sadness we follow the situation - large-scale wildfires in Australia - which remains critical and has taken lives of a large number of people, as well as resulted in dozens of missing persons.

Our heartfelt condolences as well as wishes of fast recovery to those injured and success to rescue teams and firefighters, which involved in overcoming the tragic effects of wildfires, we forward to the relatives of the victims.

The Australian Government is taking all necessary steps to minimize the effects of fires.

On its behalf, the Government of Ukraine stands ready to render assistance to the friendly Australian people if one is needed.

The Embassy of Ukraine to Australia keeps a permanent contact with the governmental and local authorities, including finding out the presence of Ukrainian citizens among the victims.
