Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration holds talks with Chief of US National Guard Bureau

In Kyiv, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European  Integration Lieutenant General Anatolii Petrenko held talks with a delegation of US National Guard Bureau led by Chief of the National Guard Bureau General Joseph Lengyel.

General Petrenko updated the foreign delegation on tasks of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine, including repelling current threats and large-scale reforms of the Ukrainian army with assistance of NATO experts, as well as realization of the Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

Deputy Minister of Defence appreciated the importance of comprehensive support provided by the United States to Ukraine under current security conditions particularly, in the context of collectively recognized long-term aggression of Russian Federation.

Concerning the defence reform, Lieutenant General Anatolii Petrenko told about primary phases of its implementation, one of which is defence review, on the results of which there will be shaped the Armed Forces of Ukraine after 2020.

Chief of the National Guard Bureau General Joseph Lengyel thanked for the constructive dialog and praised the integrity and comprehensiveness of all ongoing processes within the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of Ukraine and the state as whole.
