Payment of wages "in envelopes", escaping any documentation, means not only the support of the shadow economy, but destroy opportunities of people for normal life when reaching retirement age. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during communication with media outlets in Kharkiv.
"The cash payment in envelope implies the impossibility of living a normal life on retirement. There are a lot of such people. They used to get minimal payment, although they had a long record of service", stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
He emphasized that the Government engages in elaboration of a decision on how to help such people who retired on pension. But for Ukrainians of working age, an issue of wages "in envelopes" should become rather relevant. It is about their rights and the future.
No less important is the question of wage arrears.
"When a person works and isn’t paid for that, it's unfair. Hence, various measures are applied to debtors, and they are rather tough", the Prime Minister stressed.
He explained that arrearage is now returned following the same principle and with usage of a set of tools that, since the beginning of the year, are applied to returning child spousal support. "And here we should also emphasize on the enhanced responsibility of local authorities – you are more attuned to problems and threats on the ground. But we will keep an eye on that (issues of wage arrears)", the Head of Government added.
