    The Ukrainian and Israeli business circles have every opportunity without waiting for the final ratification of the Free Trade Area Agreement between Ukraine and Israel to significantly increase trade turnover, business relations, develop promising sectors - such as agriculture, machine building and innovation. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with Ukrainian companies – high-tech leaders. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.

    Volodymyr Groysman stressed that  the visit of the Israeli Prime Minister is  historic  for Ukraine. "I am glad that our governments managed to finalize and wrap up talks on the Free Trade Agreement. We have lifted visa barriers for our citizens. And now we are launching free trade zone, and we are talking about expanding FTA to services, co-investment mechanisms, etc.", Volodymyr Groysman stressed. "That is why I urge our business communities  to increase their trade turnover. Our synergy is in the agricultural sector, engineering, innovation. We can use our opportunities and experience to be stronger together".

    In turn, the Prime Minister of Israel emphasized that such cooperation always brings benefits to both states. Moreover, both in business and in administrative aspects because a free trade also reduces barriers in the segment of state regulation.

    Background

    On the eve of the meetings with the business circles, the Heads of Government of Ukraine and Israel held one-on-one meeting during which they assured each other of the mutual support and assistance for business projects of Ukrainian and Israeli investors.

    Over the 6 months of this year the trade turnover between Ukraine and Israel exceeded $445 million.
