December 7, a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies was held. The first on the agenda was the issue of providing the population with high-quality and safe drinking water.
According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the Ministry has created an information and analytical platform in the field of housing and communal services to facilitate quick communication with housing and communal services enterprises, public authorities and donors during the war. Enterprises actively register on this platform and report on the urgent needs to be addressed to conduct their business activities and to ensure uninterrupted provision of public services.
Also, in order to eliminate the consequences of hostilities and restore the process of providing water supply and sanitation services, the Government has adopted a number of orders on the allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the state budget for the restoration of water supply and sewerage facilities damaged as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation.
The Commission also approved the Action Plan of central and local executive authorities and local self-government bodies for the preparation and passage of ice drift, floods and high flows in 2023. The document is drafted to ensure preparedness and prompt response in the case of threats and emergencies related to the passage of ice drift, floods and high flows. In particular, it provides for the following: clarification of the procedure for interaction between executive authorities at all levels, the procedure and regulations for communication, information, notification in case of emergencies; clarification of the procedure for communicating warnings and alerts to the population; conducting a comprehensive inspection of bridges and underbridges of road and railway bridges regarding their ability to pass flood waters; organization of inspection of hydraulic structures, reservoirs, ponds, reclamation systems, etc.
At the same time, specialists of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center of the State Emergency Service stressed, the main factors that shape the passage of spring floods allow not to expect high floods in 2023.
In addition, the Commission reviewed and approved the Work Plan of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies for 2023. It includes consideration of safety issues depending on the season and loads.
