In the first 6 days after the land market had opened, there were registered 322 deals on land plots towards which a moratorium had previously been in force. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stressed during a Government session on July 7.

"Launch of the land market. Without exaggeration – it is one of the greatest achievements during the independence years. Ukrainians have become the real masters of their land, as from now on apart from owing these plots they can, when having the desire, freely dispose of it. The introduction of land reform contains a number of solutions and measures that establish transparent and clear rules of the game for all market players, but most importantly for its owners - citizens of Ukraine and Ukrainian communities," highlighted Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister added that agreements on the purchase and sale of agricultural land are concluded through transparent and fixed procedures, while the myths about a fire sale of land and the export of Ukrainian rich black soils abroad are far from the truth.
