
During the war, 10,341 land deals concluded in Ukraine
During the war, 10,341 agreements covering an area of 18,153 hectares were concluded in Ukraine.
The regions with the most active land market during the war (in terms of the number of transactions and the area of land for which deals were registered) are Kirovohrad region (2.4 thousand hectares), Poltava region (2.2 thousand hectares), Vinnytsia region (2.2 thousand hectares), Khmelnytsky region (1.8 thousand hectares) and Dnipropetrovsk region (1.3 thousand hectares).
Over the past week, 1,317 legal acts were registered within the land market framework covering an area of 2,256 hectares.
In total, as of today, 111,307 land deals have been clinched over the entire period of the land market's functioning.
Under the registered agreements, the overall land area reaches 262,679 hectares.
So far, 5,582 notaries have submitted applications for access to the State Land Cadastre. A total of 6,273 applications were submitted, of which 5,497 approved, and 776 rejected.
Notaries work with the State Land Cadastre in a regular regime.
The leaders in terms of land area for which deals have been registered are Kharkiv region (37.3 thousand ha), Dnipropetrovsk region (22.6 thousand ha), Kherson region (21 thousand ha), Kirovohrad region (20.7 thousand ha) and Poltava region (20.6 thousand ha).
Background
On July 1, 2021, the land market officially started in Ukraine. Until 2024, only natural persons-citizens of Ukraine can buy agricultural land with a limit of 100 hectares. The law on the land market prohibits foreigners from buying land. The issue of land sales to persons without Ukrainian citizenship and foreigners will be decided only in a nationwide referendum.
