  • Over the past 24 hours, 3,500 tons of humanitarian aid have been imported into Ukraine
Communications Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 05 March 2022 12:29

Minister of Social Policy Maryna Lazebna said that 3,500 tons of humanitarian aid had been delivered to Ukraine over the past 24 hours.

"We have simplified all possible procedures for suppliers and recipients of humanitarian assistance to arrive on time. Customs and logistics storage facilities work at full capacity. Regional civil-military administrations and coordination headquarters have developed algorithms for working with humanitarian aid, from disseminating information abroad on needs, border crossings, processing in warehouses to cooperating with NGOs by Ukraine, which is needed to deliver cargo to its destination.

As a result, the amount of aid increases day after day. If on March 3, 2,500 tons of humanitarian aid arrived, on March 4 - 3,500 tons. These are food, clothing, personal hygiene products, medicines and medical equipment, other goods needed to meet the vital needs of people who have been forced to change their place of residence, affected by hostilities, as well as those who have joined the territorial defense. The whole world is helping us!" commented Maryna Lazebna.

It should be noted that now when importing humanitarian aid to the territory of Ukraine the following is applied:

    - it is unnecessary to receive a separate decision on the recognition of the cargo as humanitarian aid,

    - the recipient does not have to be included in the Unified Register of Humanitarian Aid Recipients,

    - the clearance occurs without the application of measures of non-tariff regulation of foreign economic activity,

    - Customs and Border Services provide immediate passage of humanitarian aid across the State Border of Ukraine.
