Ten aerial work platforms mounted on Iveco chassis have been handed over to Kharkivoblenergo under the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The Fund was established at the initiative of Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson in early April 2022.
This is the second delivery of the relevant equipment to the Kharkiv region: five units were delivered before the new year, and another five units were delivered this week. Over the coming months, Kharkivoblenergo will receive 13 more aerial work platforms.
“The enemy shells energy facilities in the frontline regions every day, but despite the danger, power engineers faithfully perform their duties – they maintain the grids, repair damage and restore power supply. Often, specialised equipment is also lost as a result of hostilities. We are grateful to our partners who have sponsored the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and thus contributed to helping our power engineers in this difficult time,” said Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
The received equipment will be used in the structural units of JSC Kharkivoblenergo: Kharkiv and Lozova high-voltage areas of power grids, municipal power grids, and regional power distribution networks of the region and the city of Kharkiv.
In total, the Working Group of the Ministry of Energy selected over EUR 38.9 million worth of equipment for Kharkiv region to be purchased at the expense of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
In addition, under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy, 389 tonnes of humanitarian aid in the form of energy equipment have been sent to Kharkiv region since March 2022.
The Ministry of Energy has a Working Group on humanitarian aid that coordinates the work and distributes equipment and facilities to energy companies. The aid is primarily directed to the regions most affected by russian aggression.
