Today, March 18, 2021, as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda to Ukraine, during the meeting of the Heads of State following the meeting of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania, Minister of Social Policy Maryna Lazebna and Minister of Social Security and Labor Monika Navickienė signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the Transition from Institutional Care to Family Forms of Upbringing and Provision of Social Services at the Community Level.

The Memorandum provides for bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania on the exchange of experience and information, professional training in deinstitutionalization of child care, development of family education forms and community service for children (including children-orphans and children deprived of parental care) and families with children, strengthening support services for foster parents, adoptive parents and children raised in their families.

The parties will exchange best practices and information, organize meetings of specialists and experts, and other events in accordance with the national legislation of their countries.
