  • Liquidation Fund to provide UAH 4.77 billion for 133 regional recovery projects and purchase of special equipment

A sum worth UAH 4.77 billion will be allocated to the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression (Elimination Fund) of the russian federation to implement 133 regional recovery projects and purchase priority types of special equipment. The relevant decree was adopted at a Government meeting on Wednesday.

The approved recovery projects were reviewed in July during the second meeting of the Interagency Working Group chaired by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.

"The Liquidation Fund allows communities to submit all recovery projects that are critical for them. Priority is given to those projects that will provide residents of the affected areas with housing, civil protection facilities, as well as basic utilities, education and healthcare services. All these create the conditions for returning to normal life in the affected communities, which is the main task of the critical recovery projects," said Oleksandr Kubrakov.

According to the results of the second meeting of the Interagency Working Group, the top priority was given to the following:

    - projects to restore damaged or destroyed facilities, the majority of which are apartment buildings,

    - construction of civil defense facilities,

    - water supply and sewerage facilities, the need for which is caused by the consequences of the blast of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam by the enemy,

    - housing facilities for IDPs and people who lost their homes as a result of armed aggression.

In addition, it was decided to allocate funds from the Liquidation Fund to purchase priority types of special equipment (backhoe loaders, garbage trucks, truck towers, dump trucks and cranes) for Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson and Chernihiv regions.

Following the first meeting of the Interagency Working Group, the Government approved the allocation of UAH 6.6 billion for regional projects. Thus, a total of UAH 11.37 billion will be allocated to implement projects aimed at eliminating the consequences of armed aggression.
