On September 1, in Ukraine, there is introduced a rule for children of 1-4 grades to wear special light reflective vests in the darkness, in order to be noticeable to drivers and road users. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
The Head of Government reminded that the decision had been adopted in the spring - during the all-Ukrainian meeting of the Coordinating Council for road traffic safety. And during that event, the issue of the safety of children as road users was one of the topmost issues. A sample of special clothes for children has already been prepared. The Head of Government demonstrated the vest to mothers and fathers who gathered in Kyiv to discuss the progress of the Government's initiative No Child Left Behind.
"From September 1, 1-4 grades, all pupils should have special vests, which will enable the child to be visible after dark", stressed Volodymyr Groysman. "It is critical for us to create a system of protection of children. The issue of road safety is of paramount importance here."
The vests will be individual and free. "This is another our initiative for children", said Volodymyr Groysman.
