    It is the obligation of the State to protect people whose relatives have died defending the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine. This was emphasized by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

    At an extraordinary meeting on October 11, the Government supported the decision to establish a minimum pension payment of at least UAH 7,800 from January 1, 2022, for each of the disabled parents, wife (husband) of defenders who had died in the anti-terror operation/joint forces operation area (ATO/JFO).

    "From next year, more than 2,000 people whose relatives died for Ukraine, defending the peace and serenity of Ukrainian homes, will receive increased pension benefits. Targeted pension benefits will be provided to them regardless of whether other family members already receive such benefits," said the Prime Minister.
