We reached agreements on ways to boost trade across the Ukrainian-Polish border, says Yulia Svyrydenko

During the meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Henryk Kowalczyk and the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, agreements were reached on ways to facilitate trade across the Ukrainian-Polish border:

The Polish side has decided to ensure the operation of veterinary and sanitary services 24/7. To do this, employees of the relevant services will be transferred to the Ukrainian-Polish border.

Control procedures will be simplified. In particular, laboratory tests can be done not at the border, but in the destination city, which will significantly reduce the time of crossing the border.

Barriers to trade in animal products, including pork, will be removed. "It is important for Ukraine to ensure the transit of pork, beef and mutton to third countries through the territory of Poland, which requires appropriate veterinary solutions," said Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Minister of Economy stressed that Ukraine and Poland will use all modalities for transportation more efficiently, including container transportation through Polish ports.
