Yulia Svyrydenko meets with EU Sanctions Envoy David O’Sullivan

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with EU Special Envoy for Sanctions David O’Sullivan.

“We shared with our partners a comprehensive list of Western-made components identified in the russian missiles used in the latest wave of mass attacks against Ukraine,” the Prime Minister said. “We call on the EU not only to tighten export controls on these components, but also to more effectively close sanctions loopholes through third countries. We must continue increasing economic pressure on the aggressor state together.”

The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine expects the EU to adopt its 21st sanctions package as soon as possible and to begin work on the 22nd package.

“It is essential to expand personal sanctions against those involved in russia’s war of aggression and introduce additional restrictions on russian commodity exports. Our goal is to systematically reduce the financial resources russia uses to sustain its war,” Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised.

The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of sanctions targeting russia’s cultural and sporting propaganda.

“I thank David O’Sullivan for his consistent support for Ukraine. Together, we are working to make sanctions stronger, more effective, and a more powerful tool for bringing a just peace closer,” Yulia Svyrydenko said.
