Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with entrepreneurs from Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, including machine builders, farmers, agro-processors, and representatives of the light industry.

“Running a business in these regions is a significant challenge. Beyond shelling and the risk of losing people, equipment, or harvests, there’s also the issue of drought,” the Head of Government emphasised.

A key announcement for farmers was the allocation of UAH 34 million to replenish the cascade of reservoirs in Mykolaiv region. This will ensure irrigation for the next season and lay the foundation for stable water supply in drought-affected areas, enabling farmers to plan investments in irrigation.

Among other issues raised by entrepreneurs were the lack of access to credit due to high risks, the need for business recovery after shelling, property insurance, compensation for lost harvests, land requisition for fortification structures, restrictions on foreign currency revenue, and mined territories.

Following the meeting, agreements were reached with entrepreneurs and regional administration heads on specific steps to address these challenges.

“The policy to support frontline areas will include a component for business support,” noted the Prime Minister.

Yulia Svyrydenko also presented existing support programmes under the Made in Ukraine policy, including localisation in public procurement, affordable “5-7-9” loans, grants for developing processing industries and recovery, and industrial parks.

Most of these programmes have specific parameters for frontline areas, and they will be further refined in the near future based on manufacturers’ proposals.

“Thank you to everyone who continues to work in the extremely challenging conditions of frontline regions, demonstrating true resilience,” the Prime Minister stressed.
