Yulia Svyrydenko: Over 155,000 square meters of motorways has been repaired in one week
The state of repairs on highways of national importance was the topic at a Government session. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced.
"Work is currently underway on international and national motorways. Over 155,000 square meters of road surface have been repaired in a week. The main focus is on patching potholes in frontline regions and on roads with high traffic intensity. Over 1,100 road crew workers are involved in the work," Yulia Svyrydenko said.
On the outcomes of the Government meeting, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, together with the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, was tasked with maximizing the pace of work over the next two weeks to ensure safe passage along key routes within the shortest possible time.
The issue of financing was considered separately, and sources for covering the relevant needs were identified. First and foremost, this concerns the available financial resources of the State Budget.
“Additional funding will be drawn from the reserve fund, from which the first tranche of UAH 3 billion has already been allocated. It is also planned to attract additional funds from the State Budget in combination with co-financing from local budgets and a mechanism of state guarantees,” the Head of Government stressed.
The Government adopted the respective decisions to ensure allocation of the necessary financial resources.
