Yulia Svyrydenko: We welcome the EU Council decision paving the way for a EUR 90 billion loan to support Ukraine

Ukraine welcomes the decision of the EU Council to amend the European Union’s Multiannual Financial Framework and implement a measure that paves the way for the swift launch of a EUR 90 billion loan to support Ukraine, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko said.

“I sincerely thank all Member States for their unity as well as the European Commission and the Cyprus Presidency for the strong and focused leadership in advancing these critical steps,” the Prime Minister noted. “This decision will strengthen Ukraine’s macro-financial stability and defence capability and is a powerful signal of confidence in our country.”

Yulia Svyrydenko added that Ukraine now “looks forward to swift implementation so that this support begins reaching Ukraine without delay.”
