Yulia Svyrydenko: Teachers in frontline areas shall receive a monthly supplement of UAH 4,000
From now on, teachers in frontline areas will receive an increased monthly supplement of UAH 4,000 after paying taxes. This decision was made at a Government meeting.
The measure applies to 25,000 teachers working in 84 communities across Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.
The funds will be disbursed in October, covering the period from September 1 of this year.
The Government has also budgeted for a 50% salary increase for educators in 2026.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko discussed these and other Government’s support measures with teachers participating in the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine national award.
“These are 10 educators from different regions of Ukraine, facing many shared challenges in school education during wartime. I am grateful for the open dialogue and their willingness to share their questions and suggestions,” said the Prime Minister.
Yulia Svyrydenko congratulated teachers on their professional holiday.
“Happy Teacher’s Day! We thank each and every one of you who teaches children and puts your heart into it, for your resilience and daily efforts. The fact that our teachers stay with children and continue teaching amidst constant air raid alerts and shelling, while introducing new approaches, is an example of great responsibility and devotion for their profession and for children. The Government’s mission is to stand by you and provide necessary support. That’s what we are working on,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
