The Government has decided to allocate an additional UAH 400 million to support people released from russian captivity, as well as the families of those who are still in captivity. The funds will be used for annual cash payments and will cover the need for such assistance until the end of 2025. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

In total, the state has already directed UAH 1.2 billion this year to support those released from captivity and family members of prisoners. Almost 12,000 people have received assistance, both in the form of one-time payments after release and annual payments for each year spent in captivity.

"The state must ensure dignity for those who have survived unlawful deprivation of liberty and their families who are waiting for the return of their loved ones," the Head of Government emphasised.
