The Government has prematurely terminated the powers of the Supervisory Board of NNEGC Energoatom. The corresponding decision was adopted at the Cabinet meeting on 11 November.

“In 2023, we launched corporate reform. We selected the composition of this supervisory body through a competition. Full authority – from appointing management to overseeing the company’s activities – rests with the Supervisory Board. It is important that the Government did not interfere in its work. The Supervisory Board must bear responsibility for the situation in the company,” emphasised Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture must submit a new Supervisory Board composition for Government approval within one week, in consultation with international partners.

“The tasks for the new composition are to swiftly relaunch management, conduct a full company audit, and provide comprehensive assistance to law enforcement agencies in investigating possible corruption,” noted the Head of Government.

Yulia Svyrydenko reported that she had instructed the State Audit Service to conduct an urgent audit of Energoatom, including procurement.

“We expect audit results in the shortest possible time. The materials will be handed over to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies,” stressed the Prime Minister.
