Yulia Svyrydenko opens social infrastructure facilities in Zaporizhzhia

On 8 July, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko took part in the opening of social infrastructure facilities in Zaporizhzhia.

Together with her team, the Prime Minister opened a new surgical building with a bomb shelter at the Healthy Family Territorial Medical Association, operated by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council. She also visited the construction site of an underground kindergarten.

“We are expanding the network of 19 underground schools across the region,” Yulia Svyrydenko said. “For the first time, this year’s State Budget includes UAH 1 billion for the construction of underground kindergartens, with a particular focus on frontline communities.”

The Prime Minister also presented housing certificates to veterans from Zaporizhzhia region and discussed ways to improve existing support programmes.

The delegation visited a new temporary accommodation centre for internally displaced persons. A total of 55 such centres are currently operating across the region.

“We are expanding support for internally displaced persons, especially those from the most vulnerable groups. This year, UAH 1 billion has been allocated to expand temporary accommodation with accessibility for people with limited mobility. We have also extended state compensation for hosting IDPs who’ve lost their documents due to the war from 60 to 90 days,” the Prime Minister said.

Yulia Svyrydenko stressed that social infrastructure must continue to function without interruption, even just a few dozen kilometres from the frontline.
