Yulia Svyrydenko: In Zaporizhzhia, we work on preparing for the heating season and protecting critical infrastructure

On September 11, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, together with Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration – Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk, held a meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters in Zaporizhzhia.

Yulia Svyrydenko stressed that preparing for winter and ensuring its stable passage is one of the Government's 12 key priorities.

“The readiness of our infrastructure for the heating season in key sectors is over 80%. 115,000 buildings and almost 22,000 social facilities have been prepared. Government officials have been tasked with completing all preparatory measures before the start of the heating season,” said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The main goals include protecting and securing energy facilities, quickly restoring capacity both as planned and after shelling, preparing fuel reserves, repairing the gas transportation system, resolving energy debt issues, and strengthening community self-sufficiency.

During the visit, the officials inspected the construction of protective structures in Zaporizhzhia at various infrastructure facilities.

“It is necessary to use all possible forms of engineering protection, in particular concrete shelters, big bags, gabions, anti-drone nets, etc.,” the Head of Government emphasized, adding that the day before, the Cabinet of Ministers had adopted a decision allowing additional subsidies to be allocated to local budgets for the construction of shelters, restoration of damaged facilities in de-occupied and affected areas, and protection of critical infrastructure. Separately, Yulia Svyrydenko informed about cooperation with the General Staff on the protection of energy facilities with air defense and electronic warfare systems. A separate meeting was held with manufacturers of equipment for energy and transport needs, to discuss their needs and problems.

“The development of Ukrainian production is a top priority for the Government. Our aim is to support them and create the necessary conditions,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized.
