Ministry of Health of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Alliance for Medical Exchange and Development (UA-MED)
On September 10, 2025, an online meeting was held between Ukrainian Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health Mykhailo Radutsky, and a representative of the Alliance for Medical Exchange and Development (UA-MED), MD Douglas Davis.
During the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening partnership in the field of healthcare.
The signing of the Memorandum marks a new stage in cooperation between Ukraine and the international medical community. The document envisages joint work on coordinating humanitarian and medical assistance, implementing professional development programs for Ukrainian healthcare workers, exchanging knowledge and experience, introducing innovations into medical practice, and strengthening the healthcare system’s readiness to respond to challenges. In the long term, this will contribute to the modernization of Ukrainian medicine and its integration into contemporary European standards.
During the meeting, Minister of Health Viktor Liashko expressed gratitude to UA-MED for its consistent support of Ukraine, including internship programs for healthcare professionals, the development of rehabilitation medicine, the establishment of international partnerships, and the promotion of Ukrainian expertise at the global level. He emphasized that the signed document will make it possible to coordinate efforts and implement joint initiatives crucial for the development of the country’s healthcare system.
“This Memorandum is another step towards a resilient and modern healthcare system. We are grateful to UA-MED for its willingness to be part of this process. Together we are creating new opportunities for medical training, knowledge exchange, the development of rehabilitation, and the support of Ukrainians’ mental health”, said Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.
