Yulia Svyrydenko: Underground medical facility being built at Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, accompanied by Health Minister Viktor Liashko, visited Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital – one of the region’s largest medical facilities, which is undergoing significant modernisation despite the ongoing war.

The hospital has been repeatedly shelled by the enemy but continues to treat up to 200,000 patients annually. Recently, the emergency and diagnostic departments have been refurbished, modern equipment has been acquired, and a rehabilitation centre has been established, which is already serving patients.

In response to security challenges, a unique underground medical facility is under construction. It will house operating theatres, intensive care units, and laboratories.

“This will enable us to provide care even during shelling. Kharkiv Regional Hospital is a prime example of how we are restoring and modernising damaged infrastructure. People must have access to quality medical care in any circumstances,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
