We are building a system of medical services for defenders – from dentistry to psychological support: Yulia Svyrydenko
The Government is creating a system of health services tailored to the real needs of defenders, covering a wide range of treatment and rehabilitation programmes. This was emphasised by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
"We are building a system of medical services focused on the specific needs of defenders. These programmes include free dental treatment and prosthetics. In 2025, almost 94,000 patients used this service," said Yulia Svyrydenko.
Dental services are available, ranging from initial examination and caries treatment to complex prosthetics. The state must take care of restoring dental health after difficult service conditions or return from captivity. The service is available regardless of place of residence or registration — in medical institutions that have a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine. It is already provided by about 500 medical institutions throughout the country.
The Government continues to develop other medical services for veterans:
– a programme of extended primary care services;
– psychological support;
– rehabilitation abroad;
– ophthalmological care.
New initiatives will also come into effect in the new year: long-term medical care and services for the correction of scarring after injuries and burns.
