Yuliia Svyrydenko: Artificial intelligence will help in demining the territory of Ukraine
The Ministry of Economy has already developed a comprehensive strategy for information management of humanitarian demining in Ukraine, based on a data-driven approach. Palantir Technologies, an American technology company specializing in big data analytics, will help implement the plan.
The team of the Ministry of Economy presented a demo version of the unique project at the First International Donors' Conference on Humanitarian Demining in Ukraine, which took place in Zagreb on October 11-12, 2023.
"Thanks to artificial intelligence, we will analyze big data to make quality decisions, set priorities, and accurately understand the needs and resources to be attracted to demine Ukrainian land faster. In particular, the system will allow us to analyze data on potentially mined areas, combine it with data from additional sources, such as social or critical infrastructure, and formulate options for higher-priority demining routes," said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
According to her, the introduction of the information system will allow for prompt analysis of decisions and actions in the field of humanitarian demining, their correction, improvement of approaches to the clearance of Ukrainian land, and improvement and acceleration of processes.
The strategic approach to information management developed by the Ministry of Economy will allow for better prioritization of land clearance and engagement of the expert community working in the field of innovation in humanitarian demining. The availability of an analytical dashboard and an interactive assistant that generates real-time data for management decision-making will help all demining-related structures work more effectively in this area.
