Yulia Svyrydenko: Ukraine obtains an additional EUR 170 mn today for housing programs from the Council of Europe Development Bank
Ukraine has received an additional EUR 170 million today for housing programs from the Council of Europe Development Bank. The agreement to secure this loan was signed in Rome during URC-2025. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
"The sum worth EUR 70 mn will be channeled to the HOME: Compensation for Destroyed Housing project. This will provide an additional 1,500 eVidnovlennia housing certificates, enabling around 4,000 families to purchase new homes to replace those destroyed. Priority is given to Defenders, people with disabilities, and large families. Thanks to the project, over 7,600 Ukrainians have already received new housing, and a total of 24,300 Ukrainian families have received housing certificates," emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
Additionally, according to her, a EUR 100 mn is allocated to support internally displaced persons (IDPs), covering assistance for living expenses, housing, children's education, and community integration.
The Prime Minister noted that the housing sector remains one of the most affected areas. In total, over 135,000 families have benefited from the eVidnovlennia program, receiving compensation for repairing damaged housing, or purchasing or building new homes to replace those destroyed.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko expressed gratitude to European partners for the assistance: "Joining efforts, we are creating conditions for Ukrainian families to rebuild their lives in Ukraine."
