Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with representatives of state-owned banks to discuss expanding funding for regional Resilience Plans, particularly through internal resources.

“State-owned banks are already providing loans for energy projects of communities and supporting businesses under the ‘5-7-9%’ program. At the same time, these instruments are insufficient for medium and large businesses,” noted the Head of Government. “The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture together with the Ministry of Finance, are preparing a new program for lending to energy projects for large and medium-sized businesses. I instructed that the program be submitted to the Government for consideration shortly."

The expansion of international guarantees, particularly from the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, was addressed separately.

The Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Finance with analyzing the use of local guarantees in the regions and proposing solutions.

“It is important for the Government that state-owned banks become more actively involved in the implementation of other state programs, including social benefits and medical services, such as Health Screening 40+. Banks must become a tool for scaling up such solutions for citizens,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
